LOCATION AND BACKGROUND
"CABARCENO" tourist hostel is located in the Cantabrian town of VILLANUEVA DE VILLAESCUSA, in a beautiful rural setting at the foot of Sierra de Peña Cabarga, near the magnificent Nature Park of Cabárceno (1 km. from its main entrance) and ten minutes from Santander and its beautiful beaches.
Opened on March 15, 2002, the Albergue de Cabárceno is classified as a “TOURIST HOSTEL” by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport of Cantabria, in accordance with what is laid down in sections 7 and 15 of Decree 31/1997, of April 23, regulating accommodation and tourist activities in Cantabria’s rural environment. It is likewise a member of the Association of Hoteliers of Cantabria.
The Hostel is located between the coast and the inland valleys, in a quiet, pretty spot where you are guaranteed that all Cantabria has to offer in sightseeing, culture and countryside is within easy reach.
Likewise, all kinds of leisure activities can be carried out in its modern and functional facilities which are open all year-round.
The hostel is run by staff with great experience in the tourist hostel sector. They have catered for, among others, such major companies as Telefónica de España, NISSAN Motor Ibérica, Construcciones Aeronáuticas, The University of St. Lawrence (New York, U.S.A.), the University of Cantabria, Eggbuckland Community College (Plymouth, ENGLAND), RC PROGRAMAS INTERNACIONALES (MADRID), etc, as well as numerous schools, town councils, travel agencies and different associations from all over the state.
Many thousands of people have therefor become familiar with our way of working down through the ten years we have been in business, carrying out activities of all kinds. Some of these activities are outlined below.
